1. Your agreement with us
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and ChaseLight Technology Limited ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of BuzzMe. They govern your use of the BuzzMe app, its features (including nearby discovery, chat, and voice and video calls), and everything else we offer through the app (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use BuzzMe. If you use BuzzMe through Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
2. Who can use BuzzMe
BuzzMe is only for adults 18 and over. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 and that you can form a binding contract with us. If we learn that someone under 18 is using BuzzMe, we will close their account.
You are responsible for following the laws that apply where you live. You may not use BuzzMe if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, including if you are on a government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
We offer one account per person. Creating accounts to evade a suspension, or operating an account on someone else's behalf, isn't allowed.
3. Your account
- Provide accurate information when you register and keep it current. Misrepresenting your age or identity is a breach of these Terms.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account.
- Tell us right away at buzzmeandfeedback@nobuzzme.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You can delete your account at any time. In the app: Me → Delete account — or by email as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Community rules
BuzzMe only works if everyone can feel safe. When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Harass or threaten anyone, including stalking, bullying, or continuing to contact someone who has made clear they don't want contact.
- Post or send sexual content that is explicit, or send unwanted sexual messages or requests. Any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.
- Ask other users for money, gifts, or account details, or run any kind of scam or fraudulent promotion.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age, identity, or affiliation.
- Share someone else's private information (like their address, workplace, or phone number) without their permission.
- Upload illegal content, or content that infringes anyone's rights, including copyright and trademarks.
- Promote self-harm or violence, or sell or promote illegal goods or services.
- Spam or scrape, including bulk messaging, bots, automated account creation, and harvesting user information.
- Tamper with the Service, including reverse engineering, bypassing security or safety features, faking your location, or interfering with our servers.
We may remove content and take action against accounts that break these rules; see Section 8. If something feels wrong, use the report and block tools, or email us.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create. Photos, posts, messages, profile details: they're yours.
To operate BuzzMe, we need permission to handle your content. So you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and deliver your content, and to resize or format it as needed to show it in the app and on different devices. This license covers only running and improving the Service, and it ends for content you delete and when your account is deleted, except for copies that live in backups or that other users already received.
You promise that your content is lawful and doesn't violate anyone's rights. We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law, and we aren't obliged to review everything users post. We do moderate, but we can't promise to catch everything.
Remember
People can screenshot or save messages and photos you send them. Share only what you're comfortable with someone keeping.
6. Safety and meeting people
BuzzMe helps you discover people nearby, but we don't conduct background checks, and we can't verify who anyone really is. Distances shown are approximate. Anyone you meet through BuzzMe is a stranger until you know otherwise, and any decision to interact or meet up is yours alone.
A few good habits: keep conversations on BuzzMe at first, meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, stay sober, and stop when something feels off. Report anyone who makes you uncomfortable; our block and report tools work from any profile or conversation.
7. Coins and BuzzMe Premium
Coins
- Coins are purchased through Google Play and let you use in-app features that cost coins.
- Coins are a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use a feature inside BuzzMe. They are not currency, not property, and have no cash value. You can't sell, gift, or exchange them, and they can't be redeemed outside the app.
- Coins don't expire while your account is active, but they are lost if your account is deleted or terminated.
- We may change what features cost, adjust the coin balance of features, or discontinue features. We'll only do this in a way we consider fair to users.
BuzzMe Premium
- Premium is available as a subscription (for example, monthly or annual; the exact plans and the price are shown before you buy).
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- You manage and cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Subscriptions. Deleting the BuzzMe app does not cancel a subscription.
- Deleting your BuzzMe account ends the account, but cancel any subscription separately in Google Play.
Payments and refunds
All purchases are processed by Google Play; we don't process your card details and can't issue refunds directly. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies. You can also request a refund through Google Play. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under applicable law.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to BuzzMe, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if your conduct puts other users or the Service at risk. Serious cases, like harassment or content involving minors, can lead to an immediate permanent ban and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.
You can stop using BuzzMe at any time and delete your account. When your access ends: your license to use the Service ends, coins and any remaining subscription benefits are lost (no refund except where Google Play's policies or the law require one), and you should remove the app from your devices. Sections that by their nature should survive (including content licenses for what others hold, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute resolution) survive termination.
9. Our intellectual property
The BuzzMe name and logo, the app, its design, software, and all of our content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use — nothing more. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or use any part of the Service or its output to build a competing product or to train AI models, except as the law expressly allows.
10. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on BuzzMe infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to buzzmeandfeedback@nobuzzme.com, including:
- your physical or electronic signature (or that of a person authorized to act for the rights holder);
- identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it;
- your address, email, and telephone number;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
We may remove or disable access to the material and inform the user who posted it. If the user sends a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to you and restore the material. Accounts that repeatedly infringe may be terminated.
11. Third-party services and Google Play
BuzzMe relies on services run by others: Google Play (distribution and billing), Tencent Cloud (chat and calls), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push), and our measurement and safety providers. We don't control those services, and their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. Our Privacy Policy lists the main providers we share data with, and why.
Additional terms for Google Play
These provisions apply when you got the app from Google Play:
- These Terms are between you and us only. Google LLC is not a party to them, and Google is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to running it on a device you own or control, within the usage rules of the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- Any claim relating to the app (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims) is our responsibility, not Google's.
- You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Google is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms as they relate to your use of the app obtained from Google Play, and may enforce them against you.
12. Disclaimers
BUZZME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that you'll find matches or people you'd like to meet.
We don't warrant anything about other users or their content: that what they say is true, that content is lawful or inoffensive, that we'll catch every violation, or that users will follow these Terms. BuzzMe is for meeting people, not for professional services; nothing in the app is medical, legal, or financial advice.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF BUZZME, including lost profits, lost data, service interruptions, or anything that happens between you and another user, whether on or off the app.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is capped at seventy-five U.S. dollars ($75.00). Where the law of your state or country doesn't allow some of these limits, they apply to the greatest extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChaseLight Technology Limited and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: your use of the Service; your content; your breach of these Terms; your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; or anything that happens between you and another user.
15. Governing law and how we resolve disputes
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the substantive laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Let's talk first. Before starting anything formal, send a written description of the dispute and the outcome you're looking for to buzzmeandfeedback@nobuzzme.com, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally and in good faith.
Individual arbitration. If we can't resolve it informally, any dispute will be resolved through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either side may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. A single arbitrator will preside; the proceedings may be on the papers, by phone, or by video, unless the arbitrator decides a hearing is needed. Arbitration notices for you may be sent to the email or mailing address you provide.
No class actions; no jury trials. You and we each agree that disputes will be resolved only individually, and each of us knowingly and voluntarily waives any right to a class action, collective action, representative action, or jury trial.
You can opt out of arbitration. If you don't want to be bound by this arbitration section, email buzzmeandfeedback@nobuzzme.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your full name, the email on your BuzzMe account, and that you opt out. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these Terms.
If part of this section fails. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force, except that if the class-action waiver is found unenforceable, this entire section falls away.
16. Changes and general terms
Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we launch new features or when the law changes. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top, and material changes will be communicated in the app where required. Continuing to use BuzzMe after changes take effect means you accept them.
- Severability: if a provision is found unenforceable, the rest of these Terms remain in force.
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy make up the whole agreement between you and us about BuzzMe.
- No waiver: if we don't enforce something right away, we don't give up our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: you can't assign these Terms. We can transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or by operation of law.
- Notices: we may send you notices in the app or by email, including for legal matters; these count as formal notice.
